Yeah I really don't think our rotation are all on the roster.
Those incentives he gave Martinez and Lugo for coming out of the Pen have me convinced he told them they may end up there.
Of course he may just be hedging his bets for at the deadline too?
But,this team is pretty stacked on offense and in the Pen...and while the top 3 Starters are good,it falls off a bit after that and health could derail our whole season w/o another guy in the "middle" of the rotation.I have to believe he's working the Marlins.They need bats which is good cause we do0n't have arms to trade that are close.
They may want Campy also.....just wonder if they would want 2 seasons of Kim since they won't be competing in that time?
Kim/Campy/Lesko/Wolfe for Lopez?
If no Kim....maybe Campy/Lesko/Mears/Rosario?
I love Kim....but would prefer keeping Cronenworth if one is to be dealt.

Dont worry, he wont. Best bet is if he can hit his weight, resting Nola occasionally, and not get arrested for Mary Jane again.
And this is not the season to bet on a rookie, this is the go year. Need to strengthen C, IMO.

The Moose is about to be loose, as the Reds have DFA'd Mike Moustakas.
For league minimum, wonder if it would be worth the roster spot to see if Moose could regain some of his magic at the plate, and provide SD with another LH bat. Although he is limited to playing in the dirt, so doesnt really help with our OF issue.
However, I dont really see him as any different than Carpenter, who outperformed Moose last season. So maybe not worth the spot, even for league minimum.

As far as a final bat/bench piece since Myers is gone I guess there aren't too many decent inexpensive options left that can play 1B.
Haven't heard anything about Brandon Belts market....he's gonna get more than we will want to give I assume?
If we want another lefty there aren't many options....unless we just get an outfielder.
Then we have Pollock,Peralta,Calhoun,Dickerson,Grossman,Naquin,Tapia,Gamel and Dom Smith...all LH corner outfielders who shouldn't be too expensive.
Anyone think we sign another outfielder?
Brandon Belt is in Justin Turner eww territory plus he's never healthy

Yes, I would take Kluber of Cueto.
Dont forget, that Dominic Smith is actually a 1B, and was pushed into LF by Pete Alonso. So, if his bat can rebound, might be a good choice.

Kinda like the swish hitting Grossman for the OF.. maybe can get Voit and Grossman for what Drury got for 2023... Power ✔️ Speed ✔️ OF ✔️ 1B ✔️ bench depth ✔️ OBP skills ✔️
Excluding a regular DH our 5 bench pieces backing up the starters a d covering 20 days at least of Tatis

I like this bench a lot.. IF 2B/SS/3B not a real need on bench since 3 or 4 of our starters can cover

Voit is useless. He is a liability at 1B with the glove, and his meager power in SD, is not enough to offset the massive strike outs that he racks up every season. We tried it once, and it was not good, hard pass, we need to find a better option.
And I dont know why you think Grossman has good base speed, he has been caught stealing at a 43% rate for his career. And he has only played 39 games in CF, and has not been in CF since 2020.

I'd try to replace Mazur with Williams and Lesko with Snelling.. but yes.. an AS in hand at our weakest position controlled for a while and with a "special" bat especially for a C.. Tijuana mkting to boot .. yes.. they might want something a little closer or ready for MLB ...
Would Morejon + Baez + Merrill do it? Throw in Mears who would hit 50 bombs in that stadium playing decent CF but SO 50% of the time...circa 2024.. if he puts the deal over the top...

Grossman is not playing CF.. Sugar os the back up there.. Grossman is 3rd string or 4th (Tatis) CF option
