Nevin could be a decent depth pickup. Good minor league numbers and prospect pedigree. .801 OPS against lefties in the limited MLB ABs he's gotten against them. MLBTR says he was granted a 4th option year. Maybe they work something out to bring the Poway kid home.

I would think that his dad picks him up, and he goes to ANA with his Dad.

Hanks wish list between now and opening day..
1. Extend YU
2. Acquire a young controllable SP (Schdmit NYY, JT B Pitt, Luzardo/or one of the other 3 Marlins SP (not named Alcantara)
3. Sign/trade for 1 more bat (preferably 2) capable of COF/1B preffered...

The Reynolds trade market seems to be heating up. Most of the rumors revolve around the Yankees. Jon Morosi says the Pirates want pitching. Watch AJ trade all of the pitchers we drafted last year for him 😂.

Grisham 2.6 WAR vs Reynolds 2.9 WAR.. and I worry Petco suppression makes Reynolds a borderline 20 HR guy.. Grish hit 20 (w/playoffs) and was awful at the plate.. of he turns it around say to .230 clip he would easily eclipse 4 WAR... just saying I don't mind Reynolds ..BUT in all likelihood Grish would be part of that package... I wouldn't want to add too much more to Grish to get Reynolds.. Grish + Rosario + Khner + Wethers type deal.. could replace 1 of the pieces for say Cosgrove if they prefer.. but I aint adding much more than that.... .3 WAR when your guy is putting up career worst numbers is not much of a gap to = or > in 2023

It should be a good place for him, he should mash in that band box of a park, and I think the fans will love his grit and playing style. It seems like a deal that SD could have easily met if they wanted to, so Preller must not have been as excited about Wil returning as some on here.
I find it a little disheartening that Preller isnt scouring these chats, and gleaming from our savvy expertise on here.
