Watch at whom LAD DFAs to make room for JD... they are at 40...

Also JD Mart sort of makes J Turner a NO to return to LAD

I have to admit, getting a little more intrigued by a Turner signing in SD.  A professional bat, could spell Crone at 1B against tough LHSP, and give Machado the occasional day off at 3B, and still get quite a few ABs at DH as well. Plus would reminisce of Garvey to SD and the World Series trip in 1984.

Something like Turner RH and Peralta LH would be ideal as Mr 9 and Mr 10 .. with 11 being Campy.. 12 can be Rosario or Batten and 13 Dixon/others

Just read where Profar is receiving interest from Houston. Have there been any other teams showing interest?

I can't imagine there are any other players as versatile as Profar available? Obviously if there is a younger version, then go get him!

Turner will be too expensive for that role. Expect him in the $13-14MM range and pushing for a multi-year deal.

I am expecting a “minor” trade using one or more of the 40 man roster RP for a bench / 9th bat upgrade … useful but not big money part.

If they go on the FA market, maybe a couple of adds … but none over $4MM.

Likely a combo of the two

Getting upgrades should not be too hard considering bumping Batten, Dixon, Rosario, and/or Sullivan.

Also, expect they pass on adding a SP except maybe a reclamation project on a minor league deal to rehab in AAA.

Basically do nothing big until the trade deadline.

Anyone heard any rumors on Rucinski? Would think some team (and I include the Padres) would take a flyer on him even though he is 33 and spent the last four years in Korean ball. MLBTR had him #50 on the FA prediction list (maybe just tease ranking but still he was still on the board). They had him at $9MM/2 years … $4.5AAV is dirt cheap in the market.

In his four years in Korea he pitched 30ish games a season as a SP with ERA near 3.00 … yes, it is Korea but a veteran arm that can pitch innings anywhere should deserve a look.

Maybe the scouts see him differently … or maybe something in his character … or maybe Rucinski does not believe MLBTR and is asking for a lot more but should be drawing more interest.

Appears Lugo is between Pads and Dodgers

I think 2/24 gets Turner "Done"

Oh hell NO....just the idea of Justin Turner playing for the Padres makes me ill.

Lugo would be like Martinez...could start, piggy back day or long relief.
