another one bites the dust

The Twins are in agreement with outfielder Joey Gallo on a one-year deal that will pay him $11MM, per Jon Heyman of The New York Post and Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Precursor to a Kepler deal?

I dont understand this... Gallo and Kepler are very similar ..

It could be the twins already have a deal in place for Kepler and the return for him...plus Gallo, makes them better?

This lefty just got DFA by Jays... he has some starting experience and seems to be improving yr to yr.. the K/9 in 2022 pretty elite... needs better control but could be one of those DFA signings we've been talking about... He was DFA'd to make room for Bassitt

Anthony Kay ... triggered a flashback. He was a late 1st round pick by the METS with much upside but with much concern on injuries. Unfortunately the concern about injuries was the right view ... a lot of injuries ... never pitched much inninsg in any season and has burned out his minor league options.

Probably not a waiver claim on this roster but he should clear waivers and maybe he is signed on a MiL contract. Only 27 so ??????

Hosmer just got DFA'd

Our old friend Hosmer has just been DFA'd by BOS. Since we are already paying him, and seemed to be liked by Machado and teammates, do we bring him back? Or does he just sit on Miami Beach sipping Mai tais for $13M a year??

Sort of what I was thinking. Twins already have two other LHH quality prospects at the ML level who fit LF/DH  ... Kiriloff and Larnach so maybe instead of trading high with Kepler they move a low cost "prospect" with 5 years of control.

Hard to not see some TWINS' deal on the horizon.

I don't want him back and doubt that he would want to return.

I take option #2.

As I said on another post ... Manny and teammates may like him but not sure the organization has the same feelings. Some thought he check out as a Padre and really was not making the effort at the end.

So if Hosmer is signed to like 1/8 we save that 8 right?

Is he now the #1 1B in the FA market .. 🤔

KC is going to sign him

No more shift and Hosmer comes back to hitting 280-300
