Jesus Fkng Christ... We are in on Correa ... welcome to SS Town USA

WOW......just WOW......!!!!!

Whilst I'd be stoked to grab another player of his caliber, I'd much prefer an SP. I imagine the $30 million plus Correa is going to get could be used on 2 decent SP. That said, I guess 1 Correa is better than 2 decent SP?

I can see Jake or Kim and maybe even Grish Traded if we sign Correa ... getting SP from Marlins for Grish + Jake for example and then adding COF ..Kim could go to Minnesota in a Arraez trade... 1B Arraez 2B/SS Xander and Correa..3B Manny... LF Beni CF Tatis RF Soto.. DH VOIT...

SP Yu/Snell/Musgrove/LOPEZ (or other Marlin) /Martinez...... #6 (Teheran/Avila/Groome/Knher/Wethers/Poppen)...

Something needs to give right??

Kim +++++ one would think

If we are seriously in on Correa I would have to think there's an issue with Tatis.

I get the whole..."get the best bat/athlete you can" concept...but we are right now at a point one of these guys would have to DH (Tatis?) and if so....who goes to the OF between Bogaerts/Correa/Kim/Cronenworth?

I'm gonna assume this isn't real.

I can't see us signing Correa...even if it would have the added advantage of keeping him from the dodgers and Giants.

If we're in on Correa AJ already has another trade in place if/when it happens.

Braves/Cubs/Twins?

Another fake source. Last year that account was claiming to be an MLB Insider for Fax Sports. Profile picture is from a stock photo shop and the account has been outed as fake multiple times.

Another SP signed

I give a Correa signing as close to a zero chance as you can get. But I will play along.

Correa would go the 2B ... Kim would either be the DH/super utility INF or be traded.

Correa wants to be a SS ... Bogaerts wants to be a SS ... so Correa will not be motivated to sign as a 2B (or other position) unless it is a mega contact beyond teams that would play him at SS.

Signing Correa probably signals they don't think they have any chance to re-sign Soto.

No chance.

Completely agree with Fenn. We are dangerously close to repeating the same mistakes that lead to the disastrous 2021 season. We were able to survive 2022 with a healthy and productive rotation because we had 7+ quality starters. Right now, we're looking at 4. A healthy, strong rotation is how we survive the ups and downs of an uneven, top heavy offense.

We need at least one, but probably two more SP.

We need more bench depth.

We need a DH and could use another corner bat on top of that.

EDIT: Also agree there's almost no chance we're in on Correa.

Another SP signed

down to Kluber, Wacha, Syndergaard, Lugo, and Cueto in that $10-12.5MM range? Below that nothing appealing. Preller must have a plan (or really evaluates the options differently) ... or just possibly Siedler will only approve more significant payroll if it is for a top line player ... not just OK options.

Maybe a trade is possible but if it has yet to happen ... parties are not in agreement while FA options are fading away.

How soon before we hear the Padres are the mystery team in on Rodon and/or Eovaldi?
