We are actually lucky that Tatis does not have a set position at this point. We have been able to pursue Judge for the OF, Bogaerts for the IF and Turner for either. I am still hoping for Bogaerts for 2B myself. I do not want Tatis back on the dirt and Bogaerts and Correa are the best bats left on the market. Bogaerts would be cheaper and provide worse defense, which is fine for 2B. After them comes Nimmo whose signing would push Tatis back to SS. I expect that Preller is in on at least 2 if not all 3 of those guys. We can possibly get both Bogaerts and Senga for less total money than we offered for Judge alone. That is what I am hoping for at this point.

Signing Nimmo would not necessarily push Tatis back to SS.

Nimmo could push Grisham to 4th outfielder/defensive replacement/pinch bunter.

😉

Pinch bunter 😂

Have we heard anything about the Padres interest in Correa or Nimmo?

I haven’t heard anything.

I’m starting to worry that we went all in on Abreu/Turner/Judge and May end up with a few roleplayers.

I wish I had never heard about the offers to Turner and Judge to be honest.

I never thought we’d be playing in the sandbox to begin with.

But now that I know Seidler is willing to spend another $400 mil on the right player to win …and we didn’t get him, what’s the consolation prize?

I would still be happy with Senga/Brantley/Myers…..but it doesn’t ring quite the same now.

Given that they would still need a 1B/DH … Grisham becomes the DH? Or a rotation of the 4 OF through DH?

Can’t see spending all the money on Nimmo and bench Grisham while still needing two hitters and a SP with less money to spend.

More likley if they went for Nimmo … Grisham remains in CF and Tatis is the INF reducing the quest for hitters down to one more.

Sort of the same logic with Benintendi. If they went with Yoshida … think primary DH part time OF.

We lost RHP Nick Burdi, RHP Brandon Komar, and OF Agustin Ruiz in the minor league phase of the draft.

Ruiz is a bit of a bummer.

There goes Yoshida. 5/85 to the Red Sox. Wow.

I hope we sign Correa now.

dodger fans would go bezerk booing Manny/Tatis/Correa and even Soto.

Would be glorious!

Turns out it is $90 mil plus the posting fee…..so approx $105 mil.

I need a big Padre signing/trade soon!

Today seems to be the day that the big dominos drop. Get in on this AJ. The big bats are disappearing fast. Pitchers too.
