If he doesn't hit he's no better than Grisham. If he hits you could play him at 1B or in the OF. If he doesn't he's a defensive oriented 4th outfielder. I'm just saying he could be a factor at 1B if he hits.

His OPS + was like 72... and prior yr 44.. I mean Grish is Ted Williams compare to Beli.. its sad how bad he has been last 2 seasons.. I am not sure I would offer him more than 1/6..and definetely not before exploring other options.. Hell Candelario had a terrific 2021 with 42 doubles and 65 BBs .. Before collapsing in 22 (like many) ...no shift and being a switch hitter ..Candy is kind of a poor man's BELL at 1/2 or less the $$ .. I would 💯 be in on Candy.. the dude that WhiteSox non tendered with the torn ACL (Danny Mendick) could be one of those Minor/MLB dual contract guys with an invite to ST.. reports say he will be healthy by then..

I guess they can re-sign both at some point to lesser deals. Looks like for now Campusano is the #2 catcher.

But the 40 man now is wide open but the 26 man ... not so much. Hard to see them adding via FA a ton of players to the 40 man and AAA.

They were both terrible, but Bellinger was better than Grisham offensively almost across the board. Grisham is the better glove and I tend to believe in his bounce back potential more than Bellinger's. Grisham has never approached Bellinger's peak though. If he would sign a low base incentive laden deal I would gladly take a chance.

Bellinger will not sign a low enough contract for the Padres to gamble on a comeback. They should be fine with Grisham (at his price tag) ... and do better adds for 1B/DH.

I am at the point of spending large on players who are healthy and currently productivity and not waste money on rehab gambles.

Edwin Rios is kind of intriguing seems like he gets overlooked ..under played in LAD but when he got opportunities he sure took advantage of em.. could be a nice bench guy
