I would think the most obvious choice would be Manea. The Padres will need 4 starters at most and already have Martinez as an emergency starter. I believe the current Padres staff has only 2 pitchers with ERAs over 4.00 and only 1 with an ERA over 5, Manea.

at AAA Cristmat been lights out..Castillo is there..

At the MLB level ONE (or 2 if u think Cristmat helps more (or Castillo)... Manaea /Stanmen /Morejon will not make it

Stanmen pitched extremely well in rehab and was excellent yesterday and today in non pressure big lead situations

Morejon - back to back bad outings including the extra Innings Loss ..He is way over his IP from the last 3 yrs combined and might be showing fatigue (including loss of mph to 94 on his FB)

Manaea.. Seems to do well for 1 to 3 innings before imploding ..although in some outings lately has been giving up early rums (1st IP)...to me he looks Done...as in Done...

I do think Hadder/Garcia/Suarez/Hill/Wilson/Johnson/Nick..and SP Musgrove/Yu/Snell/Clev are pretty much locks.. even Clev for 1 2 or 3 innings is lights out ..You simply can't bring him in for more than 3 though..

In my opinion Sean doesn't make it

So, if a minor injury might not want to lose the player for the next series and even in the current series might not want to be locked into one healthy catcher. Liberato seems the most logical choice to de-activate.

Need to clinch 1st.. if we can go 4-2 vs LAD and Sox. and Brewers don't go 5-1 we clinch and can start Groome ..Menaea and Knher vs Giants... and set up anything for WC...

If we can't clinch and it comes to final series vs SF then can't set up anything... I really think Pads can clinch by Sunday if they keep playing good baseball.. just need to keep our 3 game lead and its over .. 3 up with 3 to play with the tie breaker = playoffs

Agree...but if we clinch early how do you want the rotation set for WC series is the question?
