2022 Playoff Roster
Quote from BoosterSD on October 7, 2022, 9:29 amQuote from fenn68 on October 7, 2022, 8:56 amNoted in the CLEV - TB series … 11 former Padres (ML or minors) on the rosters:
Cleveland: Naylor; Miller; Arias; Hedges; Quantrill; Clase;
TB: Margot; Mejia; Bethancourt; Kluber; Guerra;
I'll be honest, the only ones that I miss are Margot and Quantrill. Maybe Guerra, but most on here did not want to wait for him to develop. So dont be all....man Guerra was a bad trade.

He is 2-1 with a 5+ ERA in 22.. sure he has been better in TBR 3.36 .. but at the moment 4/16 we needed the spot for a better younger and more controllable P in Wilson as Guerra had no options left.. not losing sleep over such move..especially since we picked up Azocar in similar way and Alfaro for that matter

Quote from Jeremy Hill on October 7, 2022, 10:11 amClase is one of the best relievers in the game. His stuff is filthy. We traded him as a 20 year old prospect for Brett Nicholas who only spent one year in the organization and never made it out of AAA. That one hurts.

Quote from Randy Manese on October 7, 2022, 2:12 pmClase's stuff was always filthy but his stats in the 3 years in the Padres' system were not glowing - you just had to look at that arm and dream. Padres had a habit of trading those kind of guys after identifying their potential (Munoz, Brash, Guerra); seems like they just didn't know how to develop them. Felipe is the latest example, but it seems they are going to hang onto him by slipping him on the 40 man with little fanfare.
Comment on Quantrill: After drafting him #1 in the 2016 draft, they gave him every opportunity to assert himself but his development was so slow that he wasn't even brought up until 2019. It wasn't until Niebla got hold of him after the 2020 trade to Cleveland that Quantrill really started to develop and now is showing the kind of pitcher the Padres thought they had when they drafted him with the overall #8 pick in the draft.

Quote from MrPadre19 on October 10, 2022, 5:31 amThe pressure is ALL on the dodgers.
We can just relax and have fun and hopefully get the dodger blue monkey off our backs.

Does he take Manaeas' roster spot or a reliever?
Morejon probably..although in a 5 game series they may want +1 P -1position player.. could see -Morejon -Dixon + Clev + Cristmat for LAD.. then a different roster again for 7 game NLCS

Quote from fenn68 on October 10, 2022, 7:46 amPadres did not burn out the RP during the Mets series … have today off and an off day on Thursday. So, pen should be in pretty good shape to support the 5 game series.
That might move them to stick with the 12 pitchers even with needing a 4th SP. Clevinger starts tomorrow (probably Morejon down given his struggles on SAT). As for Crismatt … he has been less effective recently so that does not make his activation an easy choice.
Dodgers are running out 3 LHP starters to start the series … might want Dixon’s RH bat available.

Yeah ..one thing I mentioned before is Morejon seems to be running on fumes..he has logged more innings in 2022 than in anyone yr of his pro career..maybe it's time to shut him out or at least let him sit out a series or 2.. his Sept/Oct ERA was like 9.00 last I checked and got worse with NY
Morejon 34 IP in 2022... 2019 + 2020 + 2021 COMBINED 32 IP
