2022 Playoff Roster

As the schedule sits … how the Padres win each series may impact who is activated for the next series … especially pitchers. Win fast … rest … SP can return (get reset). Win playing a full series may necessitate the 5th SP to be active.
WC (3): Oct 7 - 8 - 9 … OFF DAY
NLDS (5): Oct 11 - 12 - OFF - 14 -15- 16 … OFF DAY
NLCS (7): Oct 18 - 19 - OFF - 21 - 22 - 23 - 24 - 25 … OFF DAY - OFF DAY 2
WS (7): Oct 28 - 29 - OFF - 31 - Nov 1 - 2 - OFF - 4 - 5
The OFF days should avoid the need for a 5th SP (keeping others on the 5 day rotation) but winning a series quickly can also allow resetting the rotation and minimize the use of the 4th SP.

Position player wise I wonder if they'll consider dropping one of the catchers for Rosario. Is his speed more valuable than one of their bats with Nola likely catching every game?

Doubt it. Guessing if they liked his skill set he would have been recalled for the playoff stretch rather than adding Dixon (who will probably the player dropped when they go back to 13 position players). Take out Campusano and that further limits PH flexibility with Alfaro as the only back-up C.
Side … Rosario has overall good stats in AAA BUT that comes from a great season at HOME and ugly season AWAY plus he had a brutal SEPT.
WC bench: Alfaro, Campusano or Dixon, Myers, and either Grisham or Azocar. So, at least two PR options if needed.

For the WC who is left out?
Assuming we need Clev to start game 1 in rd 2 if WC goes 3... Clevinger and Manaea would not be on my playoff WC roster.. I would add Cristmat for rd 1..
Position player wise..I need to see Dixon in the next 3 games.. but it may come down to Dixon vs Campy..No way no how I would leave Alfaro off.. even when he doesn't deliver a Walk Off (aka yesterday) he gives us a good AB and hit the ball hard. ROSARIO (can he be brought up or Groome or Knher without affecting our postseason roster moves aka player optioned needs to sit out 10 days) but if not..like to get Kim off his feet for today and tomorrow dude has been "overplayed" because of obvious reasons and he goes 100mph every game so rest the Ferrari for 2..before playing him maybe 6 innings (3 ABs) on Wed if possible

Also in a 3 gamer ..could we go with 12 P and 14 position players?... then flip with 13/13 in 5 game (or even 14/12 depending on P usage in 3 game)..and then 14/12 in 7 game series or 13/13 cause if someone is hurt can always add either way..

I think only way Dixon makes post season roster is with an IL situation (right??) Cause he wasn't on the 40 9/1/22...

No, it is 13/13 in all the playoff rounds.
