2021 NATIONAL SHOWCASE
Isaiah Lowe is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Shelby, NC who attends Combine Academy. Big and strong physical build with long arms for his height. Drop and drive mechanics on the mound, 3/4's arm slot, fast arm with good extension out front. Fastball topped out at 94 mph with consistent 2500 rpm spin rates, fastball gets on hitters quickly. Quality slider as his second pitch, 2700 spin rates, gets big sweeping life at times, CB depth with sharp SL break and shape. Maintains arm speed well on change up with developing feel for location. 7.17 runner in the sixty, plays third base when not on the mound and shows his big arm strength well. Right handed hitter, hits from a deep hand load with a wide base, swings hard and creates big raw bat speed, gets extended well out front and can impact the ball hard when on time. Has two-way potential at the college level. Good student, verbal commitment to Wake Forest. There it is...AJPs over $$$ slot play...interesting cat as 2 way.. maybe worth a try if we sign him to develop him as such.. not easy to do at the Pro level but why not try until he goes one way or the other ..or if he shows promise with both why not keep it going

Probably right on the over slot ... and why they took him as the first pick on day 3.

This one is a real sleeper (long long shot) ... Balboni has barely pitched (RP) in his career ... plus even that limited work is in the cold NE for a less than visible baseball program. Some scout must have seen something in his arm (or is a friend of the family).

At least his arm should be fresh.
He is going to melt in the AZ Rookie League this summer!!
