As expected Texas selects Brock Porter.

Padres select another injured high upside pitcher (could have had 1st round potential per some) ... only 20 out of Duke. Was ranked #81 by MLB.com

Was it TJ and do we know when?

I see he didn't pitch at all this season so he may be almost ready to pitch?

Padres draft in the 4th Lamar King ... HS C ... supposedly really strong father played in NFL.

Not ranked ... probably an under slot move.

Ben Joyce goes two spots ahead of us.....will never know if AJ would have pulled the trigger.

Lamar King Jr

18 yr old Catcher at 6'3" 215 looks to have a lot of power in his bat

5th round ... college 1B ... LHH Nathan Martorella ... rank #226.

Power but little else ... maybe more a DH .. another under slot?

Martorella is a bat-first prospect with solid numbers, rate stats and batted-ball metrics across the board. Martorella is physically stacked and lacks much projection in the body. Most evaluators believe he's destined for first base at the next level, though there are those who believe he can run enough to handle left field. There's a little bit of Tyler White in this profile. It's not necessarily equipped to hit a ton of home runs, but he does a lot of things well in the box

#226
