His SS defense is just bad (statistically). Consider in 2021 out of 24 “qualified” SS he is 24th in dWAR and 20th in DRS.

In house alternatives are defensively better:

Kim (229 innings): +8 DRS; +0.9 UZR/150; +1.5 dWAR

Cronenworth (69 innings): -1 DRS; -18.3 UZR/150; -0.5 dWAR

Tatis (686 innings): -6 DRS; - 12.7 UZR/150; -4.1 dWAR

We will see about Abrams defensively later.

So, Tatis to the OF to replace Pham in 2022 … a rotation of Cronenworth, Kim, and Frazier at SS/2B. Should improve team defense while getting Frazier in the line-up (he is leading the league in hits … so a good thing). Basically Frazier in / Pham out for 2022.

Side … I would keep an eye out for Kim stepping up into a more significant role and not just because of his superior defense … his Apr-May struggles as he transitioned to ball in the ML seem to be fading into the past and his AB are getting stronger as the season progresses.
