Mateo is DFA'd today to make room for Strahm. Should be interesting to see if a lower level team takes a flier on him, or if every passes on him. If he clears waivers, does he take a MiL deal and stay with SD, they have shown plenty of faith in him, IMO leaving him on the 26 man for so long.

They'll certainly get a boat load of shyte from Duds fans....and deservedley so!
Still, hope the 'Stros kick their ass!!!!

Still don't understand the Marisnick(sp?) trade?
Mateo not only plays all 3 OF spots but also 2 or 3 spots in the IF.
And as fast as Marisnick is, Mateo is faster.
I get the hit tool thing but was there really enough in it to deal Espinoza?
I sure hope he improves from his initial Padre experience.

Snell pitched on of the ugliest 5 inning 1 run game I've seen in a long long time. The stuff is very good but no command and horrible to watch live.
Strahm looked very interesting , will need his fresh arm in our bullpen.

While Mateo plays the OF, he is not really an OFer. Marisnick is true CFer, back up for Grisham should anything happen. And watching Profar/Mateo in CF is brutal.
