Acee reports that the money Texas wanted to get with Hosmer was just too much.

NYY getting Gallo should put pressure on BOST and TB to do more. In Boston’s case, Rizzo or Hosmer?

Report (not verified) is that the NYY will get Gallo plus a RP. If consummated … it should be interesting to see who goes to Texas

It looks like they are getting 6 prospects from NYY. Sounds like quantity over quality.

Our offense is still so vulnerable to these listless outings.

It beggars belief! We've got more than enough quality offensive players to be in every ballgame, every day. Yet, we're not.

Anyone like to venture a reason why?

I for one am with TarHeel, in that I believe our manager spends too much time trying to reinvent the wheel. Plug these guys in, and let 'em go!

Case in point: Tommy Pham had been HORRIBLE since he got here UNTIL Tingler put him in the leadoff spot. Et voila! He's a stud! So what does our manager do next? Drop him in the line up, of course, and shift him to RF? I mean, WTF?

These guys are too good to have this many stinkers. Find a bloody line up that works and stick with it.....please?!?!

I'm happy we're not getting Gallo. I would much rather figure out a way for Scherzer. We need a number 1 for the wildcard game assuming we get there of course.  We need a good streak to try to get home field .

I would have preferred we use ALL of our assets( Marcano, Suwinski, Milan, et al) to go after Scherzer.

What do we have left to give? Gore? Campusano? Would the Nats bite?

If Max is a rental, surely 2 top prospects get it done, right? Or does Max have time left on his deal? Could we also move a Snell, Myers, or Hosmer( or Kim?) as part of a bigger deal?

If Scherzer comes West and DOES NOT end up in SD, I'm thinking we're buggered.

First bet is that Scherzer stays in WASH. From a player return … it would not take all that much IF the buyer took the contract but not likely SD-LAD-SF would. It is a big (complicated) arrangement then add Scott Boras is the agent who wants to get some perk for waiving the no trade deal. A lot to consider for a 2 month rental.

Would WASH eat the remainder of the contract … probably for an elite prospect (that is more in their GM style).

I'm all for getting Scherzer but it depends on the cost.

What's he gonna do make 8 starts plus the playoffs?

Which might possibly be only one game.

It's not like Darvish suddenly can't pitch. He's had a few average starts but I would trust him in that Wild Card game.

Like i said...I'd love to have Scherzer but with the competition for his services the cost will be way too high for

eight starts IMO.

I'm not willing to lose Abrams or Hassell....let's put it that way....really not Gore or Campy either.

Plus, havent we rocked Scherzer for about 16 runs in his last two outings against us? Including giving up a grand slam to a relief pitcher! Is he really that big of an upgrade?

On Scherzer it does not help that he missed his last start with an injury … downplayed as not an arm issue BUT would have helped to see him make a start and that new look has been delayed because of the COVID issue with WASH postponing their game with PHIL.
