Not sure I understand the Padres’ moves in the top of the 6th:
Padres ahead 3-0 … Paddack pitching well with only 77 pitches … Padres pinch hit for Paddack. Would think running Paddack out for the 6th would be good for his confidence and save an inning (or two) from the pen.
Also, (unless Rivas sustained an injury) don’t understand the pinch-hitting for him with Caratini.
Padres didn’t score and Pomeranz comes to relief. Hope it pans out.

Victory!
One down one to go.
Sun came out in the 5th….Wow it was hot!
Met a friend of Prfofars and Albies from Curaçao
He handles their vehicles delivering them to and from the States
Hes meeting up with Profar and Tatis after the next game…trying to tag along.

Got to see a win and a Tatis home run!
Tatis and Machado were throwing balls over the net between innings to Padres fans.
Tatis saw my hat and threw me a ball….but it went 1 foot over my head to a Braves fan.
He gave it to his Son so it’s all good.
But I almost had it!

I’ll take the credit but Kim’s defense and Paddack’s pitching was the difference today.

A few days ago when Tingler spoke about Lamet’s return (August) suggesting “limited” innings, most interpreted that as returning in a relief role.
Since I have heard more likely he returns “starting” for limited innings (2-4 depending on pitches) and gets piggybacked by the pen. Starting gives him a more controlled warm-up process which should be better for his arm vs a situation of a rapid warm-up into a stress situation.
That, of course, may change to longer starts if he stays healthy into the end of September. A healthy Lamet as a starter going at least 5-6 in the playoffs may be what they are trying to develop.

Can the umps call the game, since it's reached 5? Any way to get a DH sweep , I'll take!

Tingler still doesn't seem to want to push his starters.
Your guess is as good as mine( or anyone's!)
Short of a LONG run this year, ownership needs to question Tinglers' future.

Since the Padres are ahead … not an official game until the end of the 5th … have to give Atlanta their final ABs.
Padres are not back to Atlanta this year (or even on the East Coast once they leave MIA) … but Atlanta is in SD for a 3 game set late SEPT. They could complete the game then (must make ATL the home team for that make-up in SD).
