The thing I like about Grand Slams? It means guys were on base. Been such a problem for this team in the past. So many good things happen when guys are on base. Keep it going boys!

He won in 2018 and his command (especially of his changeup) was much better (not great just much better). Since then there has been steady erosion of command. Always had the stuff for swing and miss.

To note: he never went "deep" into games even then ... most contended that was just the TB approach but maybe not.

Will the Padres be willing to take the remaining contract to keep their limited number of better prospects given they will be getting Scherzer for only 2+months and the playoffs.

Guessing the Nats would eat money for better prospects (e.g. Campusano) while the Padres would take money for a lesser set of prospects sent. Two weeks to work that out.

Maybe keeping the guys talking ( doing what they normally do) will keep them ....calm? in this unusual situation? Or certainly they could go to the broadcast team here in the studios? And get our guys out of the press box?
