I called for this in the offseason, and not just because he had a good day today, I think CJ Cron would be a nice platoon for Hosmer.

The bat yes ... but my concern with Cron (or any hitter limited to 1B) is that with only 12 position players ... having two statues (Hosmer and Cron) really puts a crimp on position player flexibility. Mateo is the likely DFA leaving only Profar and Kim for the OF/INF plus we are not sure the level of catching Nola can handle with his knee brace injury.
If they can land an OF ... Padres can always use Myers to platoon at 1B with Hosmer if not Nola.

Ugh.....
So, a rotation that SHOULD be Darvish, Clevenger, Snell, Lamet, Musgrove is Paddack, Knehr, Bullpen day, Musgrove?
This team COULD be so good. Hopefully most of these guys regain their health/prowess soon.

Everything I've read is that it's a foot injury of some sort.
Ankle / Achilles apparently.
From the limited replays I saw, looks like he hyperextended.
Not sure where the fallout occurred but the young man looked in a lot of pain.
Hopefully see him back soon.
