It would be pretty incredible regardless.
Recognizing the lost time by Tatis in the first 80 games and assuming he is healthy for the rest of the season … he could be headed for:
60 HR
135 RBI
40 SB
And that is OK!

Bases loaded and 2 outs and you pinch hit Jorge Mateo?
He has a chance to redeem himself and he instead had possibly the worst AB I’ve seen all season for anyone....including our pitchers.
Yikes that was bad.
Quite possible we see his DFA soon.

Frustrating game … how may bases loaded situations without any RBI for the Padres? 3? 4?
Pitching for the Padres has been a scramble … probably frustrating the Reds.
Highlight so far has been the great diving catch by Myers.

A good guess is that we see Weathers sooner than later … we have to see if the Snell issues is just a day or two delay in his start (or more) … as it stands they could still go with Musgrove / Paddack on extra day rests then come back with Snell followed by Darvish on an extra day rest.
Maybe that sets Weathers for the pen upon arrival and a start next Sunday?

I wonder if the Padres will wait to DFA Mateo until they activate Nola … and keep Rivas as the #3 catcher but that would allow Nola get get reps at 1B (less stress on his legs) or be a PH upgrade?

If we can hold on and win this one after leaving the bases loaded “four” times it will be a miracle win really.
