So if Lamet and Weathers can’t g0 more than 2 innings......what next?

Diaz (now 26) will have the ability to be optioned and retained ...  now basically a RP ... so would expect him to go when Lamet is activated for what is reported to be a Sunday start (good sign Lamet is OK). Also a good sign that Weathers does not have a serious problem.

Not sure which way they go with 60 day IL move .... Altavilla? Ona?

Also since Paddack was an IL move ... couldn't they have recalled Crismatt even if less than 10 days?

That would be a problem if EITHER ONE can't go deep since Snell is a 5 inning arm. I guess Stammen and Ramirez will be getting a lot of multi inning appearances. Maybe Johnson and Northcraft have to get lengthened ... they at one time were starters.

Running out of players to go to the 60 day to open a roster slot for a non-roster guy

Now it is being suggested that Paddack's IL may be COVID related and ... as such I believe takes him off the 40 man roster to make room for Diaz ... 10 days minimum I think ... no idea the moves when he is then reinstated except maybe DFA Diaz?

Another nail biter. Last years 60 game schedule spoiled me. I don't know how I'm going to make 162 this year. The almost grand slam took me to the depths of despair then Hill brought me back. Pom loads the bases, FTS almost boots the DP ball and we survive that inning. It's not just us that can't score with bases loaded. At least the 9th with Melancon has been stress free, not sure how he's doing it but he has great location and not getting squared up on.

Look for them to 60-day Ona when Paddack returns.  He's > 30 days already.  If he's ready to go, they could just initially have him do so on MLB "rehab assignment" for 20 days/games I think.   Kick the can of DFA's down the road to June.

I hope this ends the hysteria that surrounded the Keep Yates dilemma.

Guys that can throw 15-20 pitches in the 9th without giving up the lead are not terribly difficult to find.

Saw reports that Tingler is "hedging" on Sunday's starter .... maybe a Sunday decision with Musgrove, Lamet, and Weathers all being potential options. No negative reports on Lamet and Weathers progress and a strong suggestion that Weathers could go for his next start.

Wonder if the Sunday call is a bit dependent on Snell's performance tonight. If he goes long and the bullpen is not heavily used ... easier to go with Lamet (or Weathers) who are a bigger risk of going short and needing the pen. IF Snell goes short and the pen is spent ... Musgrove as a potential innings eater might get the not to preserve the pen.

Maybe piggy back Lamet and Weathers?

LOVE the double steal with 2 outs in the 8th! Put a TON of pressure on the Giants pitcher.

This type of baseball is SO much more appealing than the walk and dong crap of the Sandy Alderson era.

Hit and run,  run and hit, going 1st to 3rd on singles, taking the extra base on balls hit in the alleys/down the lines, double steals, hell, even hitting behind runners to move a guy over!

When you've got an athletic group of players, who understand the game, and put the ball in play, wonderful things can happen.

Now if we could only keep our starters healthy and teach Snell how to pitch past the 5th......

Had a lot of hope Snell was going 6 last night with only 60 pitches in the first four innings ... then mechanics got out to sync in the 5th (30 pitches) and command vanished. Not sure how to correct the mechanics going out of sync mid-game ... without altering something that may have an adverse impact on the quality of his stuff and his effectiveness in the 5 innings he pitches.

Excluding the PITT start (2/3 inning ... 3 ER), Snell has been very effective. 5 starts ... 5 innings avg start .... 2.52 ERA. I know his work looks ugly at some points but the results do set up the team to win games ... and that is a good thing.
