With the depth in the bullpen we started the season with I never thought we’d be 3 weeks in and watching Nick Ramirez and Aaron Northcraft.

Is there a chance some of these moves today are Covid related?
Myers scratched last minute....Campy in the line up then suddenly scratched and sent out and Nola activated sooner than expected?
I ask because there are a lot more masks in the dugout....Profar even hit with his on.
Wouldn’t they all be vaccinated by now?
Here in Georgia anyone over 16 can get vaccinated at any time.

Last I heard there was one player who tested positive but the rest (for contact tracing protocols) tested negative before the game. Hence 21 players played. No word on who tested positive .... even if it was someone on the 26 man or someone on the taxi squad.
That one I guess needs to be on the COVID IL until he clears with consecutive negative tests. If that was Campusano, that has been taken care of but if it was one of the others who did not play but on the 26 man ... need a roster move for the weekend?

One report is starting that IF Lamet came out of his bullpen yesterday fine ... we could see him as the SP on Sunday.

Paddack to the IL ... no reason given ... except "medical condition"
Diaz added from the alternate site (needs to be added to the 40 man and an offsetting moved made).

What now?
If these Starters keep dropping like flies we may have to do something the Padres obviously are trying very hard NOT to do.....bring up the #1 pitching prospect in baseball.
