Weathers was lights out tonight. Should be interesting to see who the Padres go with next Tuesday ... Paddack (7 days rest) or Weathers (5 days rest) ... the one who does it start probably skips a start given the off days and probably not wanting to lag the other three starters to give them too much rest between starts.
I know they love Weathers ability to start and come out of the pen while Paddack has zero track record out of the pen .... but Weathers’ starts have really earned him that spot.

Padres win 3-2....I loved it....Weathers went 5 2/3 solid innings - 1 hit, 1 BB and 6 K's and Pham never saw the field....Love it
Another tight game but just enough tonight....get number two tomorrow and hopefully the pitching stays solid and Pham stays on the bench....just sayin

My thought mid-game last night was ... The home plate ump appears to be Padres' fan, and/or he feels bad for the one and only call he missed from Weathers to Betts leading off the game 🙂

Getting that first win was HUGE.
Or more to the point...”not losing” that first game was huge.
A win tonight makes everything after that “gravy”.
