Not considering more injuries to complicate the issue .... Morejon to IL -> Crismatt up -> Crismatt down (last in first out) -> Lamet activated when ready. Weathers gets start if Lamet is not called up by Friday.

Then again, Altavilla is near ... apparently so is Johnson (both without options). COULD use this window to activate Altavilla instead of Crismatt? Push the DFA/option decision until Lamet is activated and no idea at this point since everyone is effective ... could be Altavilla.

Soooooo .... does Friday start go to Weathers? Or Crismatt with Weathers coming in to piggyback? Not sure either are stretched out to go 5.

Wonder how may alternate scenarios the Padres are contemplating. IF Paddack is ineffective again vs the lowly Bucs on Thursday ... could they go with a call-up of Gore for the Friday start (option Paddack) and activate Lamet the following Tuesday to replace Paddack in the rotation. Or they could go with Weathers for the Friday start ... option Paddack ... activate Altavilla setting up a 10 man pen for the LAD series ... then reset with Lamet on the following Tuesday.

Maybe "if" our starters can go deeper in the next four games at Pit we could indeed have a bullpen game on Friday....however,using most of the Pen on the first game of a series against the Duds could be problematic for the rest of the series.

I expect him to rebound given his past (there is a bit of hope in that).

After watch him ... he deserves that low BABIP. Yeh, some hard it balls ... but they are rare so far ... a lot of “easy” ground balls / fly balls, defenders not pushed to make above average plays.

Two weeks ... way too early to worry (but that is what we do). In his career he has been a stronger 2nd half hitter. Maybe he heats up to offset the others who are hot but will naturally cool down.

Snell just lost it after the first two hitters ... lost command both missing the plate and over the plate .... BIG pitch count .... pulled in the 1st after 38 pitches.

I guess moves to a bullpen day with Stammen in the 1st. Thought: could this short outing by Snell allow him to come back on Friday v LAD (up from Sun) and activate Lamet for the Sunday game v LAD? Musgrove - Paddack get the next two in PITT.

Hopefully Nola is back sooner than later .... clearly Snell and Campusano were not on the same page in calling the game plus with the bases loaded Campusano ended the top of the 1st with a weak ground out. He has not hit as the regular season arrived. Still a real prospect but clearly not ML ready offensive or defensively.
