I think he threw back to back curves to Gallo in the 1st , both were Beautiful strikes and I don't think he threw another. He really needs to pitch to Caratini and not shake him off the whole game.

Also nice to see Kim get his 1st HR and the fake cold shoulder reception in the dugout. I wonder what the launch angle was ? I know it's not possible but it looked like 100, He really got under it and hit way up the foul pole.

Campusano seems a little over his head so far .. needs more development in the minors. Hopefully Nola is back soon with the superior defense and offense for now.

Caratini has done so well .. likely to see a 50/50 split catching with Nola.

Morejon is scheduled.

Important start for him ... thinking he is in battle with Paddack for that 5th SP slot when Lamet returns. Morejon can do long relief as a fall back but we just don’t know whether Paddack can function out of the pen.

At some point Weathers will be in the mix but for now he seems to be stretching out as the long relief option.

I didn't phrase right, I ment Caratini instead of Campusano. Both of his starts were to Campusano. Nothing against Luis but he clearly needs a t least a year and a half of AA or AAA. With Lamet coming back soon Paddock could find himself back in AAA to work on gaining confidence in the curve

Even yesterday command was not good (71 pitches in 4 innings) and clearly not embraced the curve (or just can’t master it for game quality). Not sure the move to the pen without command would work.

In the short run might opt for the minors over the pen ... not a lot of hope .... beginning to see him as a trade chip at the trade deadline if the rest of the arms are healthy.

Remember that one of Nola’s plus attributes was his defense and handling pitchers ... so a 50/50 split will keep them both fresh into the playoffs.

Bad game for a bullpen game with Crismet optioned and no other long man. Now we need Stamen to go long as possible with little chance of more than 1 good inning from him. We really need Lamet to be healthy but Paddock appears to get a reprieve
