2021 Season

PreviousPage 110 of 114Next

Rangers released Kohei Arihara today, He will probably start tomorrow nights game for us

What could have been … SP ERA 2018-20 vs 2021:

1. Snell: 2.85 (337.2 innings) vs 4.20 (128 innings) … #1 CY Young in 2018

2. Clevinger: 2.91 (367.2 innings) vs. —- out with TJ

3. Lamet: 3.11 (143 innings) vs. 4.10 (41.2 innings) … #4 Cy Young in 2020

4. Darvish: 3.60 (294.2 innings) vs. 4.13 (157.0 innings) … #2 Cy Young in 2020

5. Musgrove: 4.23 (325.1 innings) vs. 2.99 (165.2) …

Wow, the top 4 COULD have presented one of the best rotations in MLB if they just delivered their 2018-20 performance level … better with three having peaks to get in the top 5 Cy Young voting. Then layer in the emergency of Musgrove in 2021.

Optimistic? All 5 are back in 2022 and, hopefully healthy.

HALLELUJAH!

Nice to hear I'm not the only one with these thoughts.

He's gotta go, for all the reasons I've mentioned. Bad choice( coroberated here) AJ........

This article is completely on point.  Tingler absolutely needs to go, something I have been in favor of for a long time.

Preller needs to go as well.  The fact that this is his hire and his second terrible hire in a row shows he has no idea how to win.

Please go get a veteran like Bochy or Showalter.

The first question is who replaces Preller not who replaces the manager.

Siedler talks with Lucchino … Lucchino recommends Theo Epstein (close relationship … only 47 … success with Red Sox and Cubs … consultant with MLB) to get the President of Baseball Operatons in SD.

Epstein then either also holds the GM role or hand picks someone he respects. Then they both collaborate on a manager that fits their model.

So … for the new manager … who does Epstein like?

Technically his contract was up on Sept 30th … so did not “fire” him but chose not offer him a new contract. No real difference … but for the sake of accuracy.

Would expect the “firings” to start when the season ends along with some additional folks not getting offered new contracts.

Tingler for Farm Director?

Big game tonight!

Not that our season rides on tonights outcome......but it kind of does. If we go out there, battle, and win, sets us up to do it all again tomorrow night. Lose however.....morally, I think it destroys any hope( not just of catching the Duds but we all know the Reds will not lose another game the rest of the season AND the Phillies and Cards are charging hard)

A loss tonight and we end around .500 this season. A win......then anything is possible!

Go Pads!

When I made this prediction a month ago, I thought we'd end up OVER .500......just.

Now, not so sure........With all the injuries to the rotation, the league's worst offense over the past 3 months, and the league's most over used( abused?) bullpen, I really don't see how we win more than 1 or 2 games, especially as our opponents are 1) better than us, and 2) still vying for playoff position.

Might not make it to 80.

I don't want Tingler ANYWHERE near any of our future prospects!

Guy brings ZERO to the park. How in the world Preller thought he could manage a big league team......

Here it comes another, you have to tip your cap, bla bla bla...
