If Lamet is out we are cooked

Pffffffffft ... hear that sound?  That's the wind ooozing out of Padres' fans hopes and dreams 🙁

I’m sure it isn’t a blister as no one looked at his hand or anything.

Just what it looked like Castro said.

I just don’t know what to think anymore.

And Myers left the game too?

Whats with that?

AND...........it’s his elbow!

Literally the worst news we could get at the worst possible time we could get it.

Why does it have to be so hard to be a Padre fan?

Season is over. Now we have to wait for 2022. Lamet and Clevinger both have elbow injuries! They have both have had TJ surgery once already. A second TJ surgery basically means career over.

All of my optimism for the Padres just disintegrated. On to football.

Kevin Acee was first to report elbow.

Now everyone is saying Bicep tightness.

Didn’t  Clevinger’s issue start out the exact opposite?

Easy... easy.... let's hope for the best here.   I get Padres (Tingler, etc) are going to maintain an optimistic tone, but don't think they would falsely say "might be OK" if it wasn't a possibility for both SP's.   It's not like football where there's "strategy" in not knowing if Aaron Rodgers or whoever is going to be able to make the start at QB, which affects the other teams' game planning & practices.  Think it's a good sign so far no one is ruled out.  They're just likely to wait till the last possible moment to decide up/down on Clevinger & Lamet for the first playoff series.

I know we're all long suffering, and this uncertainty & injury timing is frustrating & "unfair", but let's celebrate what the Padres have accomplished all WEIRD season long;   no doubt, no fluke, no 'expanded playoffs' sneaking in....

...One of the 4 best teams in NL putting 14 years of futility & agony to rest!

I do think no matter what the status of Lamet & Clevinger is, Pads are going to HAVE to go with 15 P's now.

Just too much uncertainty; will need "all arms" on deck.

Paddack did not look good the few innings I saw last night.   But I will say this.

CP fundamentally with every fiber of who he is as a person is WAY better in an underdog, chip on his shoulder, overlooked in draft (tattoed on his arm), etc role (that he will very likely be now as a "2nd choice replacement playoff SP") than he is as an "Opening Day Starter", "#1", "Ace" Front runner...

He feeds off &  thrives on the disrespect.  I look for him to come up big in 1st round.
