2020 Playoffs
Quote from MrPadre19 on October 14, 2020, 11:13 amOther than the Padres beating the Dodgers the next best case scenario for me would be the Braves sweeping them!
After that....just keep them from the World Series!
Rays vs. Braves were my ideal matchup once we were eliminated...so I'm fairly stoked right now.

Quote from WindsorUK on October 14, 2020, 2:42 pmMargot and Renfroe are certainly doing their share. I believe they're the top 2 run producers for the Ray's this post season?
I imagine playing in SD gives them a little bit of an advantage.

Quote from WindsorUK on October 25, 2020, 5:48 amAnyone still watching baseball?
If the Dodgers are depending on Jansen to close out their last 2 victories for a series win, they may never win another championship.
And this unreal, unsustainable ability to drive in runs with 2 outs has to come to an end, doesn't it? I mean, the Duds hitters aren't really that good, are they?

All we have left is rooting “against” the Duds!
Surely Roberts won’t be pitching Jansen in the 9th any more?
I’m hoping he sticks with him though.....

Quote from fenn68 on October 25, 2020, 6:51 amDown to best 2 out of 3 could go a lot of ways.
All those two out RBI and the hitting of Turner and Seager is going to be hard to sustain for the LAD ... but Betts has not really started hitting.
TB is not particularly a good hitting team but Arozarena has been great ... can he sustain that for 3 more games? On the other hand, two of the Rays best starters, Glasnow and Morton had poor starts ... will they return to form for their next start. At the same time will the extensive use by TB of their pen lead to the reduced effectiveness of those arms and will the LAD seeing them this much make them more hittable (a version of the 3rd time through the line-up concept).
Still could go either way ... but tonight the key may be Glasnow’s performance since he has the capability to be shut down.

I'm with you on that one!
He's NEVER been good for long stretches. But the Duds always seem to put him out there even though he's struggling. Keep it up Doc!

Turner is a good playoff performer and I think Seager is a good ball player, all around. But there's just no way these two are carrying that lineup to a series win, especially now with Bellinger listed as day to day with an ankle issue.
Betts can be Betts, as long as the Rays don't give him many opportunities with runners on.
I'm praying for a Rays victory.

Quote from 84padres on October 25, 2020, 2:57 pmI really enjoyed Chris Taylor booting the game away and Muncy making a wrong side of the plate throw. It couldn't have happened to 2 better DBs. GO RAYS

Quote from MrPadre19 on October 25, 2020, 5:08 pmThis game could dictate how Kershaws’ post season history is remembered.
He has been known to be a poor playoff pitcher.....but his last few starts have begun to change that perception.
This game could push it one way or another.
It’s a pivotal game......a very poor performance will re-establish his “bad playoff pitcher” persona IMO.
But a great performance leading to a win may solidify the opposite.
I’m pretty sure I know which way most of us want it to go.....
Which will it be?

Quote from MrPadre19 on October 29, 2020, 10:03 amWhile I would have LOVED to be the one celebrating a World Series victory I do feel some solace that the Dodgers are the ones who won the "Covid" Cup.
Now...if we can win a full season Championship in the next few years....and before they win another...we can always have that in our favor going forward.
So lets get the "next" one out of the NL West.
