CINN was originally favored for the NL Central and finished 3rd. Designed to hit HR in that small ballpark in CINN ... that did not work against good pitching in ATL.
Wonder if their GM (if he survives) needs to rethink their overall approach ... very good pitching base but offense????
CWS (Central) bites the dust to OAK.
Well .... Miami takes out the CUBS (Central) thus eliminating 6 of the 7 Central teams in the 1st round .... only STL is alive ... and guess who can take care of that.
As it stands:
TB vs NYY ... 1 and 2 in AL East
OAK vs. HOU ... 1 and 2 in AL West
ATL vs. MIA ... 1 and 2 in NL East
LAD vs ???? .... 1 vs ????
No 7 or 8 seeds survive and pretty much on form.

Way to gut it out Johnson.
Both teams had bases loaded chances with the same results. Very even so far. Every Padres fan would take it so far.

We aren’t gonna score against Flaherty.
We need to work the count and get his pitch count up to get him out of this game I’m afraid.
But can our Pen keep up?
I’m not sure I’m going to survive this.

Well, happy to say I was wrong yesterday. Brilliant job by Johnny Wholestaff today! Tingler pulled the right levers with the pen, and the offense stayed with it to get it done. And of course, a friggin' unbelievable play by Tatis to save the game!!
Got the Cardinals off our playoff backs now.
Next. Figure out the Duds!
