Baring some under the wire paperwork being processed at MLB headquarters, looks like a wrap for the Padres.
Pluses for an immediate playoff run and setting up a deep run in the playoffs (and 2021): Clevinger, Rosenthal, and maybe Adams .... Nola and Castro ... Moreland all represent upgrades.
Would the minuses really be of value now .... and given the players ahead on the depth / prospects charts ... even in the future: Trammell .. Torrens ... France ... Munoz ...Hedges .. Quantrill ... Naylor ... Arias ... Miller ... Cantillo .. Potts ... Rosario ... Olivares ... Reyes.
If the objective is to win now ... and continue winning .... these deals are the right fit for the Padres considering they did NOT move the "elite" four. Even if one or more of the "blocked" prospects succeed no problem ... the Padres are better set to win now while retaining the prospect to win later.
Overall, have to like all the moves.

Not a very good 29 year old RHRP but has a minor league option so maybe an alternate site safety net.
Is on SEA's 40 man ... so I guess to the SD 40 ...

Terrible #s (5.93 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) ... but 6 Saves and 12.5 K/9 ...

Williams does possess a 95-96 MPH and a high K% ... so given Preller's ability to find under valued RP with some underlying skills .. never know ... he may be of some value with a little work. Probably not but need to sort through a lot of misses to get that hit.

Doubt SEA gave him up for a PTNL if he had any real upside ... unless the PTNL is really good.
However, slicing his 2020 stats:
14 games / 13.2 innings .... 9 earned runs and that is not good
1 game / 0.2 innings ... 5 earned runs (oddly against the Padres on Aug 27th)
1 game / 1.0 innings ... 3 earned runs
12 games / 12 innings ... 1 earned run and that is very good.
Stuff must be there ... so if Rothchild and Tingler handle him right might be an asset in the pen. Good chance he can be better NOW than Guerra - Stammen.
Since he has longer control, low cost, and some skills .... that PTNL probably is better than a 25 year old middle RP in A ball.
