Add Hedges ... Cantillo ... Miller

Padres also get Allen (that CF back back-up) and the alway great PTNL.

Quantril, Arias, Naylor, Miller, Hedges..... and Cantillo? That's a bunch.

I REALLY liked Cantillo.

I really liked Cantillo as a prospect but still a couple years away so........

And Cantillo

For 2 years of Clevinger?

Oh my!

Deal includes Cantillo/Hedges/Miller!

That is a lot!

No future in SD for Arias, Miller in the INF ... Cantillo far out (and behind Weathers, I guess). Naylor was easy to let go. Quantrill looked to be destined for RP and Padres added Adams plus pieces in their own system (Preller finds RP anywhere).

A lot of names ... a lot of talent ... but no future in SD. Give volume get quality.

So our top 4 team added.... Rosenthal, Moreland, Castro, Adams, Nola, Clevinger?

6 new personalities to add to our locker room. That a good idea?

OK ... 4 hours to get the Lynn deal done.

Morejon - Mejia - Marcano - Baez all still in play?

Filler with Lucchesi - Guerra -

Pieces still exist to make it happen is some combo for only 1 year of Lynn.

For 2 years of Clevinger?

This year AND two more years!

On the surface seems like a lot for Clevinger, but is it really?  Quantrill has looked good this year, but he's no Clevinger and we still don't know if he could be any more than a RP.  Hedges will be missed because of his fire, enthusiasm and handling of pitchers but zero as a hitter.  Arias and Miller are blocked and not any better than Abrams and Marcano.  Naylor joins his brother in Cleveland, so that's a plus for Naylor but no real role in San Diego any longer.  Cantillo is a good story and wish we could have kept him, but clearly behind Gore and Weathers in the LH SP list.  Don't forget we could also trade Clevinger in 2022, to get prospects equal to what we just traded away.  Allen and PTBNL not relevant, in my opinion.  I think this is clearly a win for the Padres.  To do this and hang on to Gore, Patino, Abrams, Campusano and Weathers (also heard Cleveland previously wanted Cronenworth or Grisham) is amazing!
