Petco Park had many sellouts and big crowds this season. The reason is simple that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out: put a good team on the field and the fans will come.

In the brief history of the best-of-three Wild Card Series, teams winning Game 1 have gone on to advance 14 out of 16 times. All six teams that have won Game 1 at home have completed a sweep in Game 2.

Yeah as exciting of a win as that was the offensive performance really wasn't great. Higgy's homer was the only hit we got after Smith-Shawver left the game. There were some hard hit outs, but we're going to need a better effort against Fried. He's a different beast.

Winning tonight now becomes huge.
Not only does it set us up with Cease to start Game 1 against the dodgers it also gives the team a days rest and keeps the bullpen rested.
As an added bonus we(my heart) don't have to face an elimination game scenario.
Edit:actually it gives us an "extra" day off if we win tonight.
That would really help our pitching.

What a wasted opportunity. Bases loaded and no outs then no runs is disappointing.
