I see the money being reported as a push with annual AAVs at $11MM for Hader offset by the annual AAVs for Rogers / Lamet. The only way that works is that the Padres keep the money from MINN they received in the original Rogers' deal (he was only a net minimum on SD books).
Hader as his best is dominant ... but does have his spell of total ineffectiveness.
Rogers was going go be a FA (and we know his current issues) ... Lamet was in my mind a non-tender candidate ... Gasser / Ruiz are upside prospects but not looking to be major contributor in 2022-23. OK with that.
I guess worry about 2022 now and punt on 2023 until the winter. Hader via arbitration in 2023 is going to be a new upward pressure of over $11MM.

This is an absolute 💯 here we are hear isb"Roar" type of move... Hader is "elite" with Petco as his home park.. is game over late in games

Guess Myers replaces Ruiz and Martinez replaces Lamet. Hader replaces Rogers.
Trade deadline might fill those two 40 man slots if they deal non-roster prospects vs 40 man roster assets (unlikely).

Excited about Hader. What a fall from grace for Rogers though.

I see P Efrain Contreras (40) as a 3rd or 4th piece in a trade..same with Rooker/Sullivan/Campusano (2nd dary) and Azocar to clear more spots...
I guess at this moment CJ Abrams is our backup CF

The biggest thing is Rogers relies so much on being perfect ..he must hit his spots..so if he is just a little off or doesn't get a call it all gets amplified.... Hader is so dominant he can wiff 3 straight at any time ..while not perfect (no one is) he is by far the one guy 100% that I'd give the ball bottom of the 9th 3-2 game 7 WS .. imagine Rogers going in same situation... I'd have a heartattck before he got out #3

Not to mention we have Hader for next year as well. I think that's huge.

Ex trade impacts ... likely then next two 40 man moves are Stammen and Gore to the 60 day IL.
If later they had to go DFA ... guessing Sullivan and Scott are the low hanging fruit ...neither with much upside. Without Ruiz ... Azocar may be the back up (call up CF).
This deal probably strengthens the move of Tatis to the OF upon his return ... plus a deal for a CF might move up the priority list (lest they are really happy with Grisham ... not knowing when Tatis returns).
A lot can happen in the next 25 hours to change those dynamics.
