Just FYI, Seattle has no need for a C at this point. They traded Narvaez because they have a rookie C that just came up last year by the name of Tom Murphy.

Thanks, was at work and didnt research the SEA team prior to making the post.

He is not a stud “yet” then. He is not a guy you empty the farm for at this stage in his career.

I am sure lots of other people would suggest that Hanigar is more than worth Patino++. Everyone has their own ideas. I have seen Mlbtraderumors come up with several possible trades for the same guy(not Hanigar. I forget who it was) From us, he would have cost Patino, Campusano and Quantrill. From the Mets, he would have cost their #80 something SS and two non ranked prospects. From another team it was zero ranked prospects. Different trade proposals for the same guy that were nowhere near equal to each other. Everybody wants Patino in any trade because everyone has heard of him and knows he is awesome. They are going to end up settling for a lot less.

Does anyone know how to paste a table into the thread? I created a spreadsheet comparing Myers to Castellanos and Ozuna. Would like to place it in this thread.

I am old man.. Still using those marble math tables.. 😆

Proving none of us has much insight on potential trades .... not sure anyone even thought Davies and Pham were even on the trade market let alone players the Padres would add.

Next?

I am doubling down on Contreras and Mazara as the next 2 pieces

Wonder if AJP does some Low A ball A ball back filling now with Hedges + Naylor + France type back fill trades

IF any teams want them ... they may fit into Preller strong suit of adding obscure short-season / rookie ball / DSL types. Probably get better for Naylor.

Could target a trade eligible COMP pick for next year or more intentional money if they have a target.

price for myers straight up sort of makes sense for both

Except for the Padres adding $12MM / year after just adding Pham's increase ... pushing $150MM and should be still looking at improving the OF/offense which likely will also require adding payroll.
