Likely Martini, Mejias-Breen, and Edwards unless they can find trade partners for the someone in their larger move list.

That is one man's opinion. He is gone in 2 years anyway. They can get something or nothing for him. If that is the best offer they get they will take it.

Yeah I think something like Potts + Arias + Nix is what it would take .. A top 10 a top 15 and a top 25 Padres/Rays /ATL org type spec meaning other lesser ranked farms likely 2 top 10 and a top 20..

I would love a Mazara trade this morning .. Something like Lauer + France for Mazara

Quote from Henry Silvestre on November 4, 2019, 7:11 amJust thought of a Heyward ($21m) for Myers swap + Bryant
So in one move we cover lefty CF. + big O upgrade..
Bryant + Hayward for Myers + Franchy + Lucchesi + Patino + Arias + Morejon.. OF solved can now use /Naylor to go get rotation help.. + sign a FA or 2..
Heyward is pretty good vs RHP ..terrible vs lefties .perfect Heywad/Margot platoon.. Bryant can start in LF.. Heyward even though - value as well like Myers a lot less so and can move in a yr or 2 to accomodate Bryant future costs and make room for Trammell...

Quote from Randy Manese on November 4, 2019, 7:42 amAnyone think a Mookie Betts trade is possible? Boston needs to dump salary, acquire pitching and replenish a relatively barren farm system. I'm thinking we could even include Myers and pay some of the salary. Would that rule out Strasburg as a FA? Admit this is really thinking outside of the box, but would have to get some assurance of a Betts extension otherwise lose him in 2021. I look for Boston, Washington and Texas to be interesting teams to watch this off-season besides the Padres.

Three problems with this scenario, even if CHI was willing to trade Bryant and not talking about giving up some good/great prospects.
One, money. Heyward is $21M for 2020 and 2021, and $22M for 2022 and 2023, with no buyout. So that is $86M total. Bryant is arb eligible, and predicted to make $18.5M this year and then a bump in 2021 as well. So thats another at least $40M. So you want to take on almost $110M in salary to get rid of $68.5M. Plus those salaries will basically prevent us from chasing Stras, as we would be maxed out in budget taking on both of those salaries.
Two, defense. Heyward is not able to play CF effectively. He is a RF, always has been. So we still have a hole in CF against RHP. Bryant, is he any better defensively in LF over Myers? Not sure.
Three, Cubs. You could get Myers to play in RF to replace Heyward in RF, and Schwarber in LF. They would still miss the production of Bryant and have no money to replace that since they are up against the luxury tax. And he is a fan favorite along with Rizzo, I dont think they part with Bryant.

It has been discussed at length here. Most people obviously love the player and the skills that he offers. However, does SD really want to part with a package of Patino, Arias, and 2 other high level prospects for one year of Betts. Then add on that he should be close to $30M in salary this year, and even if BOS took some of Myers salary, Betts salary would eat most of the dollars that SD has ear marked for chasing Stras. If it was 2022 and we were one guy away, maybe? Probably too early for SD to make a move like this IMO.

I don't think Patino for 1 yr of Betts is even palatable.. I mean I would expect a package similar to Goldschmidt to the Cards... Which would bw something like Morejon + Quantrill and Naylor... Steep for 1 yr of Betts but palatable ..
