I think/thought that Urias was going to be a star. Yes we have lots of pitching but we are never going to run out of #4 or #5 starters. We need to keep all of the possible #1-#3's that we have. Right now we only have 2 of those; Gore and Patino. But I have to say, I truly hope you are right about Xavier Edwards.

They are “Lindor  like”.

Head + Campusano + CJ + Edwards and Trammell are my absolutely hang on to's... We can use Arias + Ornelas + Allen + Torrens + Naylor..etc..... But leave my boys be..

Once a pitching prospect gets to that level I don't think you trade them. They say it takes 5 pitching prospects to make 1 major leaguer. We had Espinoza and he already crapped out. If we are incredibly lucky both Gore and Patino will become FOR pitchers. If Gore doesn't work out and we trade Patino we are sunk for years. Don't get me wrong, I love Abrams and Edwards but they are years away. Abrams hasn't even played full-season ball yet. Let's complete our current team first. Gore and Patino are the present. Abrams and Edwards are in the future.

Patino can also crap out and get us nothing.. Look at Forrest Whitley in Stros.. Why not sell high.. Paddack working out already made us get that ONE out of 5.. Gore just a bonus now.. 😆... Weather's Cantino..the Mexican kid in LE ..Bolanos.. Etc etc.. All can be better than Patino next yr.. If we have a SP 5 of Stras/Paddack/Lamet/Richards/Lucchesi for the next 5 yrs (with Gore replacing Richards post 2020) that's a very very good SP unit..and thats not even adding an arm (Verlander/Greinke like at a deadline deal if contending) we can survive just fine without a Patino.. And Espinoza is not toast just yet.. He is a little brown but not burnt yet.. Cheering for the Lad..

Back to trades/signings.. Give me + Stras + Dickerson + Shogo and trade (new owner) for Whit 2B (KC) .. And 85 W's + within the realm for 2020

Oh and Edwards I think is at most 1/2 season away... Like Tatis Jr he could possibly make the jump from AA to Pads in ST... Dudes approach hit tool and speed and defense are mlb ready or will be very soon...

If, and, or... There are 31 other teams who would love to have Strasburg and Cole. "If we only get Strasburg.." We will be INCREDIBLY lucky if we get 1 true TOR this off season. We have a 1/16 chance to get one of those two. Thor does not qualify, he is already on the downslope. "If we get Benintendi..." They do not want to trade Benintendi. We would have to seriously overpay to get him or Betts or Lindor. And it is a lot less likely that he turns into Yelich than it is for Patino to turn into a quality starter.

I would be ok with that.. I love Whit... Reason for $20 vs $30 ..we are also taking Kennedy's big overpay..
