Trade ideas

With all that said== what can we realistically get for Perdomo + Guerra + Naylor?

and what area SP/C/ other (if we get say 1 MLB proven or Almost ready player)?

Virtually nothing?  Naylor has some value as a former top 100 prospect, but until he can show he can hit big league pitching on a regular basis his value is minimal.  Perdomo is a swing man who is out of options, Guerra has talent and could be a nice piece at the back of the bullpen, but is also out of options and hasnt shown much at the major league level (and has only been a pitcher for about a year).

I agree that a trade will have to be done, unless the Padres decide to carry 15 pitchers.  It will be hard for Preller to get value for either of them

The Pads probably would keep an extra pitcher if teams weren't limited to 13. There are going to be some very hard choices for Tingler this year at cut time.

Fangraphs has Perdomo with one more option.  Are they wrong?  I hope not, because we might need Perdomo later in the year.

Doubtful they can be dealt as a bundle as no team likely wants 3 marginal roster players at this time. Individually probably an upside DSL/rookie/short season/low A type.

Think we should embrace the idea of Myers in RF. Padres have no one PROVEN better. The value in trading him is removing payroll and to do that not going to get quality in return ... plus no takers.

Hope he has a good season.

Cant carry 15 pitchers--- New roster rules limit to 13 the number of pitchers on a mlb 26 man roster-- it can expand to only 14 in Sept call ups -- roster only +2 to 28 then also

I was being sarcastic haha.  I am aware of the limits.  Point was that it is really hard to find any scenario (that doesnt involve injuries) where both Perdomo and Guerra make the team.

Now that I think about it, what might be more prudent/possible is if AJ can flip one of the more established relievers before camp breaks.  AJ wants a small fortune for Kirby but would anyone really be surprised to see him traded?  I also wouldnt put it past AJ to try to flip Stammen for a low level DSL prospect.  Stammen has been an above average 7th/8th inning guy the last few years, even though everyone agrees his stuff has decreased, if a team picks up an injury at the back of their pen, (especially a team that is hoping to make the playoffs) wouldnt be out of the question to see them acquire Stammen for some DSL prospect who hasnt played stateside yet.

Yes please.

I scratched my head at the signing to begin with.

Yes he's a workhorse and you can't have too much pitching....but at the moment we "have too much pitching" and of the options Stammen would be my choice to move for something of future value.

I wouldn’t be surprised Stammen and Preller have a gentleman’s agreement that he would not be traded before the season.

Think they are correct.  He has one option left.

Out of options now:  Greg Garcia, Pierce Johnson, Pagan, Mejia, Breyvic Valera & Javier Guerra

1 option left:  Perdomo, Zach Davies (unlikely, but still...), &  Luis Torrens.

All others either big $ contract/arb, or 2-3 options left
