My only concern with Senzel over Grisham is how has he recovered from surgery to his throwing shoulder ( Torn Labrum). That could affect his ability to play outfield I would think.

I’d worry giving up Campusano or Arias to get Senzel.
We haven’t had an all around good Catcher in a long time and Campy could be that guy.
Arias is a premium defender at a premium position.
Senzel very well may be worth these guys and more....but what if he isn’t?
Its just risky IMO to trade for someone else’s prospect who hasn’t excelled at the highest level yet.
Lets face it....Senzels’ 375 AB’s last year were only average.
He K’d 101 times in those 375 AB’s.

I agree with Mr. P. At this point in time Nick Senzel is still a prospect. He is actually less than Will Myers was when we traded for him. Sit least Myers had shown that he could hit well at the ML level when we got him. Senzel has not shown that. Yes he has a ton of hitting talent. So did Urias. Until Senzel actually PROVES himself at the ML level, you do not give up a Kings ransom for him. The Reds are expecting a Kings ransom.
If Mejia doesn't end up working out, we will end up trading multiple top prospects to get someone just like Campusano back 1 or 2 years from now.

Let's just roll with Grisham....he is a year younger than Senzel, hasn't had major shoulder surgery and keeping a legit catcher prospect is huge....AJ must have liked something in Grisham so pencil him in and see what happens. You all know I'm not a fan of huge overpay in prospects for prospects unless that prospect was T Gywnn or some guy named Tatis...the player that is.
Who knows....Campusano may turn out to be a Yadier Molina type and wouldn't that be nice to see him playing for the Padres instead of watching him beat the Padres.

I might give up Lucchesi for Senzel but I wouldn't give up Q. Quantrill has already shown an ability to dominate at the major league level that Senzel never has yet. Lucchesi and Arias maybe. No more than that. But the Reds want a haul. I seriously doubt this trade happens.

Like Senzel but not as much as most of the trade suggestions.
An “older” prospect without much power or speed who was considered a 3B coming out of college being converted to the OF or 2B. Projected as a hitter. See more Logan Forsyth / Chris Antonelli than a premium player.
Not worth a premium position prospect such as Arias or Campusano going in a package. Plus in 2020 Senzel would be more valuable to Cleveland’s OF / offense in their quest for the playoffs than anything being suggested. pitching is not their issue ... Clevenger will return early and the rest of the staff is very good ... better than Q or Lucchesi right now.
If the offer is good for Clev to contend why is it not good for SD to contend? They are better.

No match with Cinn ... has to go through Clev first.

Not sure that Lucchesi really has much trade value given his 6.22 ERA away from PETCO. Not for a contender. Every team can find a bottom feeder who can do as well without paying much.
Quantrill should have more trade value but not a lot for a contender that cannot risk the talent kicks in for 2020.

With Paxton, and now Severino, on the DL to start the season in NY( Severino needing TJ), do the Yanks make a move for a starter? I know nothing about them but was wondering if they needed a pitcher and had anything we'd need in return?
