Quote from fenn68 on August 1, 2026, 8:46 pmLAD get Skubal ... paid a big price for a rental that few could match. OF Hope is the #25 in MLB ... Sheehan is a proven ML pitcher with big K% ... then a throw-in SP.
LAD kept him from MILW or ATL or Cubs which may have been more important that what he does for LA.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on August 1, 2026, 9:07 pmSounds like it's actually River Ryan and Sheehan isn't included. I still can't believe how good of a prospect Ryan has turned into after we traded him for Matt Beaty.

Quote from WindsorUK on August 1, 2026, 9:13 pmDuds could literally have Ohtani, Yamamoto, Snell, Skubal going into the playoffs?
League desperately needs a cap.
I travel for a living and all you see abroad is LA and NY gear. Having unlimited funds provided by local tv revenues, in the largest metropolitan areas in the worlds largest media markets, is not good for competition.

Quote from ultratvfan on August 1, 2026, 9:14 pmAccording to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Tigers have agreed to send Skubal to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for a multitude of prospects, including Zyhir Hope, right-handed pitcher River Ryan, and right-hander Brady Smith.

Hope he doesn't turn out like Kluber or Fried.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on August 1, 2026, 9:37 pmIf all of The Dodgers starters are healthy a guy who is currently 11-2 with a 2.88 ERA might be their #6 starter. Injuries might be the only thing that can stop them.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on August 1, 2026, 11:20 pmYou have to give The Dodgers some credit. Yes they spend a ton of money. They also scout and develop players extremely well. Zyhir Hope had played in 11 games at the complex level when they acquired him. River Ryan had not yet pitched as a professional. They turned them into very good prospects.
