Larnach WAS a very good prospect but has struggled in his ML time and is currently in the minors … 5 years control at league minimum … and even with his ML struggles an upgrade over Carpenter as a LHH (plays LF/RF). 26 so now maybe more a role player than the future … but still would be an upgrade (with some upside).

MINN who is neck and neck with CLEVE for the AL Central is seeking pitching that can help now … not sure who the Padres can give that would help a playoff team that the Padres also need.

If the TWINS are down on Larnach’s future … maybe Garcia (if they need a RP) or really role the dice if desperate for a SP and would take Weathers or Groome or Avila or Wolf?

I'd do Weathers for Edman.  Very good utility player that would improve the bench greatly!

I think you're drastically overestimating the value of Weathers. I don't think he comes close to getting Edman on his own let alone with Carpenter attached to him.

Oh wow, I was thinking the opposite: that they’re underestimating his value.  He’s still only 23 and has been pitching well in AAA, I believe.
