Batten spent a lot of time in the OF today, also played some IF.. with the lack of ABs (especially when Tatis returns) wonder if Padres would prefer Azocar in AAA getting regular playing time ..while keeping the more versatile Batten on that 3-4 PA's a week regimen

Campy isn't left-handed. That guy had the 1B glove on his right hand. I'm guessing that was Carpenter.

Im thinking that LH 1B in the video could be Alfonso Rivas, the kid from Chula Vista signed to a MiL deal. He bats and throws LH.

Depending on ST performance, I see either Batten or Dixon losing their 40 man spot to Schrock. If you look over the INF and its depth, except for Crone and Carpenter, the rest are all RHH. IF Schrock has a good ST, I can see SD opting for the LH bat to balance out the INF, and could spell Kim against real tough RHSP at 2B.

Don’t forget Dahl (LHH) if he shows well and could start out in RF with Engel platoon if they are OK with Carpenter being the first in INF sub.
May not be the most critical ST battle for the 13th position player among a number of fringe players … but that is what we have.
Once Tatis returns: Campusano, Cruz, Carpenter, Engel are the 4 after the starting eight … then there can be only one out of a cast of many. ST will be critical for that cast of many.

Didnt forget Dahl, but with him limited to OF only, might get squeezed out. He will really have to perform in ST to displace someone for the move onto the 40 man.
But yes, he does have some potential, and could very well force SD hand in this matter.
Once again, a nice problem to have.
