Looks as though the sent about 24 to minors camp ... no real surprises.
Apparently they are letting Abrams and Marcano stick in ML camp for the duration (they deserve it).
Of the non-roster arms remaining still have Crismatt, Knehr, Valdez, Diaz, Camarena, Northcraft, Ramirez, Guerrero. Katoh, Tanielu, Florimon, and Rivas are still there for position players.
Still need some subs for the next week and a half and not overwork the expected ML roster.
Might have missed someone.
Yeh, no idea where they go if not in ML camp and MiL camp does not open for a couple of weeks (I think) plus some are likely "alternate site" players ... wherever that may be. Doubt they want to send them home for two weeks and risk COVID exposure.
They just stay there. Bullpens & "work" on back lots, but can still play in MLB games like when they bring guys up from Minors camp to fill in the later innings of games in a "normal" ST. Valdez hasn't appeared in a game yet. Is he injured too?

Beginning to looks as though one of the remaining non-roster RP will get a shot (maybe two).
Adams has "Elbow Inflammation".... not good

It was really good to see Espinoza pitch the other day. I'm hoping he can stay healthy and have a career after the two TJs and all the work he put in for rehab.

The biggest surprises this spring training for me have been (not in any order): Marcano, Crismatt, Abrams, and Mateo.

Agree although I aways have to temper may view of players in ST with the reality that ST performances can be very misleading given all the variables. Think John Roskos, Jabari Blash, et al.
However do think what we have seen of Abrams and Marcano does portend very good ML futures ... athletic with excellent bat to ball skills. Abrams had the projection going in (and does appear ahead of schedule) but it is Marcano just showed way more than I expected for a kid who just played low A in 2019. Not just the bat ... but defensively in the INF and even as the tried him out in the OF. Clearly the scouts liked him to put him #12 on the Padres prospect ranking in 2019 and not #6 at age 21 ... all without a lot of fanfare.
If, as it appears, they want Abrams to start 2021 as a SS ... and he has shown enough for a AA placement ... Padres have choices. AA for Abrams and Marcano rotating SS/2B to fully develop the INF skills OR, if they really want to develop the SS skills for both .. maybe a placement of Marcano as the AAA SS (he is on the roster so a potential call-up without a roster move and Abrams as the AA SS. Early scouting questioned Marcano's arm for SS ... have not seen that as a major issue so far and at 21 he deserves the minor league time to prove he can handle SS.

Mateo has looked very different at the plate (in a good way). So, it is ST mirage OR do we need to give some credit to the hitting coach Damien Easley. He seemed to connect with Myers and Hosmer last season altering their approaches (in a good way). Of course that may not be a causal relationship.
Don't expect him to blossom into a big hitter but if he can be ML quality ... big asset off the bench.
Probably has secured a roster slot for the start of 2021.

Kim needs more time to acclimate to stateside baseball ... now clearly overmatched. Have faith that the scouts saw real MLB potential in his years of All-Star performance in Korea and hopefully that will come through as he gets used to playing in the US (food/language) and the higher level of talent. Korea may be considered somewhere in the AA/AAA level.
