Padre pitchers with 13 K’s and 0 BB’s.

Hard to lose games when you’re doing that.

Bogaerts swing, since late last season, looks SO much more effortless than it did his first few years here.

The way he's swinging now, he is a legitimate threat at the dish again. And I for one am thrilled🥳

If FTJ ever improves his launch angle, this could be a really good lineup.

Cronenworth is going on the concussion IL. Song is coming up.

Although it has been 18 days between the hit in the head and going on the IL ... that is well within the range for recovery time for 80% of the people (2-4 weeks). Not sure why the Padres let Cronenworth push to not go on the IL initially ... this early in the season would have been prudent.

The pessimist side of me flashed back to top prospect Drew Cumberland. Had to retire in 2012 after persistent problems from a major concussion injury ... tried to return but couldn't. For some (maybe 20%) problems linger for a long time ... and that may be more of an issue for a baseball player that relies and vision / balance. Hope that is not the case with Cronenworth.

From what I've read they think that adrenaline got him through the initial testing. Then he mistook what may have been concussion symptoms for altitude sickness. He said he's never had a concussion before and didn't really put it together until after they returned from Mexico City.

Such tough luck for Cumberland.  I really liked him as a prospect and wished he could have recovered from his concussion issues.  I thought he was going to be a solid major league starting player.

Cumberland was a good kid too! I had the pleasure to meet him as he was good friends with Jaff Decker, and they were both helping out Deckers dad travel club team. Got to talk to him a bit, seemed like he had a good head on his shoulders. A shame he couldnt bounce back.
