I guess if Lockridge is CF ... and considering Heyward and Sheets just flat out can't hit LHP it was between Iglesias and Gurriel ... then an "easy" choice while holding your breath on defense.

Merrill to the IL ... Gonzales called up.
I guess this gives some extra life to Heyward in a platoon with Gonzales in the near term. At least we get to see if Gonzales has any ML chops.

Cease has A LOT of Snell in him.
I know there Is good Cease and bad Cease, but that first inning was on another level, he was just throwing the ball, not pitching.
