How many runs does Cease have to give up before Shildt pulls him? This is ugly.

Yikes

At this point he is just letting him eat innings ... hoping he stabilizes and holds the A's but more importantly not burn too many bullpen arms for tomorrow.

Cease just has nothing ... solid contact on everything he throws over the plate.

That dude doesn't even throw strikes, but they keep swinging like If It Is down the middle. 🤦

Tough debut for Gonzales ... first ball hit to him and he wiffs letting in two runs (not really critical given the hits after but still).

Let's hope Gonzales makes up for it with a hit.

On the upside, the Padres remain in first place and still have the best record in MLB as both the Dodgers and the Giants lost.

I am more worried about Tatis and Cronenworth that today's game, I hope Is nothing serious on both cases.

The Padres had a promising 3-0 start And then fell apart. Cease was terrible tonight. Schildt left him too long and taking out Tatis in the 4th made no sense. It's as if he threw in the towel.Unless there is something wrong with Tatis. I hope not.

The Padres will not sweep, but they can still take the series tomorrow afternoon with Vasquez on the mound.

KEEP THE FAITH!

GO PADRES!

Tatis had pain in his surgically repaired shoulder after a swing ... will miss Wednesday's game and hopefully back on Friday.

Cronenworth had pain in his right side during a swing ... maybe related to the HBP the other day ... will miss Wednesday's game and hopefully back on Friday.

The pessimist in me recall's that the prognosis on Merrill started at 1-2 days for the hamstring and end with an IL ... so have some worry.
