From today's DFR ...
The TinCaps won both games of the doubleheader to give them three in a row, even with Robert Hassell III sitting out both games due to soreness which, according to the team, has him day-to-day.

PADRES -- Robert Hassell III, OF (No. 1/MLB No. 23): The NL's starting starting right fielder, Hassell III was robbed by George Valera of a potential RBI double in his first at-bat, but he bounced back to drive in a run with a two-out single up the middle in the second.
Side note ... I still monitor and compare RH3's status and progress with a fellow Futures' Gamer ...
ROCKIES -- Zac Veen, OF (No. 1/MLB No. 22): Veen turned in one of the best all-around performances of the game, going 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and two stolen bases. The starting left fielder did a nice job taking breaking balls the other way for both of his hits, and his two stolen bases came in succession in the bottom of the third, when he swiped second and third.
So ... they are MLB's #22 and #23 prospects ... still pretty close 🙂

Heading to Triple-A
The Nationals promoted Hassell from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hassell missed nearly two months of action earlier this summer with a right hand injury and had struggled to shake off the rust upon returning from Harrisburg's injured list Aug. 20. Though he slashed just .238/.306/.381 with two home runs and one stolen base in 11 games following his return to the Double-A lineup, Hassell will nonetheless be awarded his first promotion to the Triple-A level for the final three weeks of the season. Rochester likely had an opening in its everyday outfield for Hassell after the Nationals recently called up prospects Dylan Crews and Darren Baker from Triple-A.

Robert Hassell III, OF, Nationals: Hassell knows the fall league landscape as well as anyone, as he’s on his third tour of duty in the AFL. On Thursday, Hassell provided a good chunk of the Rafters offense going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Hassell has seen his prospect pedigree dissipate in recent years and is looking to prove he’s still the advanced hitting outfielder many pegged his to become as an amateur. So far, Hassell has been one of the most impressive hitters on the circuit this season.

Rule 5 eligible this December. Nationals could roster him since he's their 13th rated prospect (by Pipeline) but he's already 23 and still hasn't shown much power. Hassell is a great kid and hope he does find a home in the MLB.

I'm sure I mentioned this in another thread but is there any chance AJ could swing a deal to bring Hassell back to SD?
What are the chances the Nats do add him to the roster? And what would a prospect swap look like?

Nationals: OF Robert Hassell III
Hassell, the Nationals’ No. 13 prospect in 2024 per MLB Pipeline, is healthy after dealing with injuries throughout his Minor League career. He is in Major League camp with the Nats for the second spring in a row, looking to make a case among a deep group of young outfielders.
