Nice to see Ian do something positive, I know he is close to if not at the end but he is my daughter's favorite player from his time with the Tigers so I still root for him to do well. I don't know where we would be without Yates, he has been one of our two best players so far.

Quote from MrPadre19 on May 17, 2019, 7:04 amWatching closely you can see everyone is trying to hit the 500 ft home run.
Hedges and Hosmer especially.
Margot and Machado are about the only ones not swinging out of their shoes on every swing.
It's working for Reyes and Renfroe...and that's the type of hitters they are so I doubt they can change.....but the others?
I'm all for the home runs....but why doesn't someone do something to change some of these guys approach to get more base hits?
Or is the Hitting Coaches job just to pat them on the butt when they get a hit and encourage them when they don't?

Could someone tell the Padres?
Please.

Quote from MrPadre19 on May 17, 2019, 7:23 pmFranmil is in the zone!
But does it really have anything to do with him moving to the 2 hole?
Cause it sure would help if these were 2 or 3 run bombs instead of solo shots.

Quote from 3fingersplit on May 17, 2019, 10:25 pmCouple of random thoughts.....Maton works under the ball way to much when his arm angle drops and it causes very little tilt on his slider and makes his fastball very flat.....both end in a bad result
Garcia does nothing for me....his numbers don't tell the story...he just won't swing and watching 3 straight to end the game ? I would much rather see Urias up and playing...at least he will take a hack and use the whole field
And speaking of the whole field.....everybody knows that the right handed hitters on this team with the exception of Franimal is dead pull so they get pitched away, away, away and then when they roll on their front heel the front shoulder pulls off the ball and they lose over half the plate..it would be very refreshing to see these guys plug in the front foot and actually take the ball the other way with authority. It would do two things....one would be to make the other team play you straight up instead of the over shift and two the base on ball rate would go up because they aren't chasing out of the strike zone.
Not many pitchers are really pitching inside to Padre Players with the exception of Garcia....he will just watch it anyway and his glove isn't all that
Don't even get me started on Andy Green......

Really getting tired of seeing EVERY other team in baseball hitting and scoring runs while we continue to strikeout and just generally suck!

Quote from MrPadre19 on May 18, 2019, 6:38 pmI’m not even upset that Margavicius is struggling.
Can’t we just one time outscore the opponent when the Starter doesn’t shut them down?
Cant we win a game 10-8?
Let’s string 3-4 hits together in one inning more than one time every 2-3 weeks.
