With the injury to Kluber the Indians may become this seasons first Sellers at some point soon.
A few weeks ago we would have been all about trying to get Bauer.
But it seems pretty obvious that what we need isn't pitching.
But we also don't really have many available positions to upgrade.
We're not gonna trade for a 2b without first giving Urias his chance if/when they decide to move on from Kinsler.
We basically only have a spot open for a Centerfielder with high OB skills.
It sure would be nice to have a legitimate leadoff hitter with a .350+ OBP on this team.
Obviously this isn't something that would happen anytime soon but it will probably hold true in a couple months when the chances of something happening become more possible.

This team will be just fine......I have been watching the Padres since the old days at Westgate Park when Day/Night double headers were the norm and then in 1969 when they became a major league team and the glory days of Ed Spezio and Tommy Dean, Nate Colbert and of course Ollie Brown etc
Just be grateful we have a Major League team and go enjoy a Ballgame

Dickerson added to the roster and called up
Perdomo optioned to AAA
Kennedy move to 60 day IL

Good for Dickerson after a couple of hard injury plagued years ... LH and can hit
Perdomo back in AAA should focus on RP (looked OK in that role) ... note that it was not Quantrill suggesting he will get another start (at least)

Note: 7 players on the 60 day IL ... 4 on the 10 day IL.
Should be a messy clean-up of the 40 man roster at season's end (or earlier).

Should add that 40 man roster players on the IL in the minors: Espinosa and Avila. Plus Guerra is still working on conversion to pitcher in XST.
So another 3 roster players not playing.
Tough to navigate.

How long can we realistically expect Dickerson to remain in the Bigs?
Until Cordero is back?
Or is this just the Ol Cup O’ Coffee?

Since I don't expect Cordero back for some time ... when he gets healthy and has a full rehab (or longer) ... Dickerson could be up for quite a spell ... his LH bat will be useful off the bench. Probably should think about when Jankowski returns ... could be sooner than Cordero but still likely months off.
Since they had to add him to the 40 man ... probably shows some commitment to keep him around although I think he can be optioned this year.
A lot of moving parts on this roster ... but would expect somewhere around the end of July we will have to deal with excess.
Side: looks as though the Padres may want the major prospect to develop in AAA and bring up the next tier options. Added Dickerson when the could have added Naylor (who will have to be added this winter) and called up France instead of Urias (to play SS in Tatis' absence). No issue with the choices though.
