Based on some comments (DSmith show) from Smith and Dennis Lin … does not sound as though the Padres see Campusano as their future catcher. This is sort of where it got vague but NOT an issue of not hard working and not really an issue of his handling the defense but “something” that they feel will not allow him to make that next step. Vague but something to keep an eye on.
Maybe they see him as a Contreras type bat..strong arm catcher who catches 60 times a yr DH 100.. if he can have that .250/.340/.475 type bat should be fine...
Or at worst a backup C like Alfaro 54 games at C so far with a dozen or so as DH... bit cheaper

I think they like his bat a lot..based on the fact he was DHing a lot at AAA

I guess he has Expkosive bat speed which produces big exit velo... I want to witness some of that over the weekend

I like the 319 ABS with 33 BBs and only 60 SOs...

Road splits .. for Campusano.. ironically 8 HRs vs 6 at Home which is odd..based on EPs altitute

Again vague … but issue maybe be beyond the on field stuff and create a longer term concern. Seems to be whatever the issue is …it is one that no one wants to put out to the masses … and I can understand that.
