Does Campy C Snell tonight? Or Musgrove tomorrow?..

Maybe does not catch either game. Nola had off Sunday and Thursday is an off day ... so not getting worn down.

IF he gets a game ... which pitcher has a better chance of adapting to Campusano behind the plate? Which opposing pitcher does Campusano have a better chance of hitting?

I would guess Musgrove could deal with the change better than Snell and Wood would be easier on Campusano than Webb. So, IF he catches ... Wed seems the game.

But hasn't Nola Caught Musgrove all yr..and Alfaro Snell? I thought the same thing about Snell needing a more Vet C.. but the chemistry between Nola and Musgrove been there for all his starts.. then again with a winless streak going since 8-0 start maybe a JUJU luck move to try Campy tomorrow...

On the other hand Musgrove should be easier to catch than Snell with his stuff ... and Snell would seem a bit more "sensitive" to an inexperienced catcher. Don't discount the factor that Webb might be a real challenge to a guy that has never faced him (Wood less so).

Wednesday is a day game after a night game so maybe he does get to catch but would not be surprised to see Nola get all three.

I guess one could make the argument that Wednesday with Musgrove vs Wood is the better chance for a Padres win ... so go with the working pitcher-catcher team and the more proven hitter to improve the odds of a win.

Then roll the dice on the Snell vs Webb match-up hoping Snell is on his game and Webb is not.

Musgrove would be the easier assignment for Campy but Joe is adamant that Nola is a big part of his success.

Unless Joe gives the go ahead I don't see Nola "not" catching him.

And Snell seems to be regressing back to first half Snell. That near miss on the freeway has obviously shaken him up more than he is letting on( hell, I don't blame him!)

Maybe Campusano being behind the dish will make him concentrate more? If Nola's back there, he probably doesn't need to think too much. Rookie catcher- Blake will have to be more focused on every batter?

Nola catching tonight.

2nd half Snell is back.

If Niebla is such a genius he will find a way to get 2nd half Snell all year next season.

Snell kind a had to work through that pull hammy for the 1st 2 months..so his season started kind of late ..so not sure if this year was different from last yr from that perspective.. but yeah a bit more consistency early on gives Snellba chance to duplicate CY season numbers

Big W tonight

Grisham new career season high in HRs with 16 (had 15 one other season as his high mark) not bad for a dead ball yr..I think losing playing time to Wil and Azocar has him focused more.. his ABs were very solid tonight
