The home plate umpire injured himself in the bottom of the first, had to get a new ump changed into plate gear, takes about 10-15 minutes to change.

Drury now hitting over .310 with RISP this year.

Man, watching our defense tonight it appears if most of these guys have never played with each other.
Need to tighten that up least we want to give away valuable games down the stretch.

Yeah we gave them 3 outs at least.. started with Nola missing the easy pop up

Give Clevinger a lot of credit for going 5 innings after a delay for the changeout of the home plate umpire and the delay for the lighting. Usually see the SP pulled after delays or they become ineffective.
Good to see Drury have a game ... and also Bell. Hope that signals a turn in their fortunes and they get hot down the stretch.

This comes from putting guys in different fielding positions. Myers has played four different positions LF, CF, RF, and 1B in 5 games.
Hey Melvin, this isnt beer league softball, there is a reason that Myers should never be in CF. We got lucky tonight that it didnt come back and bite us in the arse tonight!

By the way that field was a bit wet..Morejon slipped.. The ump .. and a few others had a little slippage throughout the gane

I don't like to see Myers in CF BUT the Padres are not hitting and Rondon is one of the elite LHSP in MLB ... so gamble the offensively hot Myers provides more offense to offset his defense than going with Grisham or Azocar who likely will not hit Rodon.
I also don't like moving players around defensively ... but when you have apparently weak links in some games and only limited talent on the bench ... need to take some gambles.
